The rocky Canadian Shield, which forms most of our lakes and rivers, also creates perfect environment for big trophy Smallmouth Bass. They are common in the 2 to 4 pound range with many 6 and 7 pound trophies being caught. They are very common and easy to catch. They also taste great.

There are lots of shallow weedy areas and patches of Lily Pads where you will find all kinds of Largemouth Bass. Due to the cooler water, our bass don't have the parasites that bass down south have thus Ontario Largemouth Bass are great eating.
