Perch are very common in Ontario's lakes and rivers. Perch generally travel in schools and congregate in the same areas as Walleye and Pike. You will catch Perch while fishing for other species if you are using smaller lures.
If you want great numbers of perch, you only need to anchor on the edge of a weed-bed and fish straight down from the boat with a small hook, worm or small minnow. After you have anchored for a while, Perch will travel from a distance to come to your boat. Before you know it, you will have a whole school of Perch under the boat.
Perch are a small species of fish and rarely get over 1/3 of a pound. Perch taste fantastic. They are easy to catch and clean. There is no limit so it's a great way to bring lots of fish home for the big fish fry.
